According to the leak, the Fold 8 will come with a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8-inch inner display with an OLED screen. The device measures 158.4 x 143.2 x 4.5mm when unfolded and 158.4 x 72.8 x 9mm when folded, which is almost the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The camera bump on the back is also the same.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Images & Features

On the next foldable phone, Samsung will use a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It will support all the new camera features that we have seen on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and it is also expected to get some exclusive camera functions.

Huge Camera Bump Not Going Away

With the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung introduced a camera bump, called an island, around the camera sensors. Now that the camera bump is not going anywhere, it is still 5.5mm thick. Many users have complained about or disliked the camera bump on their foldable devices. It makes the device wobble on one side when users place it on a table or a flat surface.

Processor & RAM

The leak suggests that the device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with 16GB of RAM. Further, we can also see 16GB RAM and 1TB memory options in some major markets.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 to Get 5000mAh Battery

For the first time, Samsung will use a 5000mAh battery on the new Fold. Since the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung has been using the same 4400mAh battery. The bigger one will give extra juice to users in most tasks, like gaming and outdoor activities. Furthermore, it could come with 45W charging support, though it may miss 60W charging support like the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Samsung Could Reintroduce S Pen

With the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung ditched its iconic S Pen to reduce its thickness and weight. Now, as per the report, it could make its re-entry with the Galaxy Z Fold 8. It is not confirmed which features will come with the S Pen.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Expected Price

The expected price of the Fold 8 could be the same as the Fold 7, which means we may see a $1,999 price tag. The rumors claim that despite the rise in memory prices, Samsung will not increase prices this time because it has already done so.

Will Launch with One UI 9 Update

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 will reportedly run on One UI 9. The same software will also run on the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and another rumored Galaxy Wide Fold smartphone. Samsung is preparing some new exclusive features, like a changed UI design, a new color palette, and more Galaxy AI features in the next Android 17-powered One UI 9 update.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 vs Apple iPhone Fold

In the second half of this year, it will not be the only flagship foldable phone in the market. For the first time, Apple is introducing its first iPhone Fold with advanced features. If Apple launches it in September this year, it will directly compete with Samsung’s next-generation foldable lineup. Apple Fold or iPhone Fold is likely priced at $2399 in the US, which is more expensive than the Fold 8.
