Samsung’s upcoming One UI 9 update has leaked again, revealing a major redesign along with new widget styling and a smarter Gallery feature. Samsung is reportedly updating the design of its Now Bar, widgets, Gallery, and other apps. Previous leaks already hinted at visual design changes in the next One UI version, and recent reports further confirm them.
One UI 9 New Details Emerge
According to recent leaks from SammyGuru, Samsung is refining the One UI 9 interface. Further, users will notice minor changes in the Now Bar, which is expected to adopt a black background and square corners instead of the current rounded ones. It also states that usability with the new bar is smoother, and the information displayed in the card appears more appealing than before.
Design Changes in Widgets

Overall, the widgets section is set to receive design and interface updates. One UI 8.5 already offers one of the best widget experiences, but Samsung now aims to refine it even further. Common widgets like Samsung Browser, Gallery, Now Bar, and others will feature square corners, although users will still have the option to switch back via settings. We can see more One UI 9 features in the next batch of leaks.
Gallery App Gets Minor but Important Feature

In the One UI 9 update, Samsung is introducing a useful feature in the Gallery app. When users select multiple items, a blurred rectangular box will appear at the top to display the selected items. This is especially helpful when choosing a few photos from a large collection, making it easier to track selections.
One UI 9 Release Date
Samsung could introduce One UI 9 firmware in the second half of this year alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8. Before that, users may get early access through the One UI 9 beta program, which is expected to begin in May. The Galaxy S26 series will likely be the first to receive it. The official release is estimated for August at the next Galaxy Unpacked event.
