One UI 8.5 beta update for Galaxy devices

In the new phase of the beta testing program, Samsung has rolled out the beta version for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S25 FE, and Galaxy Tab S11 series. For the first time, Fan Edition devices are receiving a beta update. In the past, Samsung had not released beta versions for FE models, making this a notable change for Galaxy FE users.

More Galaxy devices will get One UI 8.5 in April

Moving forward, more Galaxy devices are expected to receive the beta in April, and the first stable version could arrive on the Galaxy S25 series. Recent firmware builds spotted on CheckFirm show that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are running One UI 8.5 beta versions, indicating they could be next in line.

We expected the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 beta to arrive in today’s rollout, but Samsung only delivered the March 2026 security update for these foldables, so they may have to wait a few more days.

One UI 8.5 Beta Eligible Device List for April

In this phase, or in April, Samsung is expected to release the One UI 8.5 update for the following Galaxy devices:

  1. Galaxy TriFold
  2. Galaxy Z Fold 6
  3. Galaxy Z Flip 6
  4. Galaxy A56
  5. Galaxy A36

Samsung has not officially confirmed the full list yet, but recent internal test builds spotted on CheckFirm strongly suggest these devices. Further, some of them, such as the Galaxy TriFold, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6, have already been spotted on Samsung’s database server. Like other smartphones, the beta for these devices will also launch in the US, UK, Germany, India, and South Korea.
