Samsung is now testing the One UI 8.5 firmware update for the Galaxy S23 series. The new firmware build has been spotted on Samsung’s internal test server. This indicates Samsung is closer than expected to rolling out the next major software update for the Galaxy S23 lineup. The newly discovered firmware version is S918NKSU7FZCB and was found on the South Korean test server.
One UI 8.5 for Galaxy S23
The firmware number ends with FZCB, indicating that Samsung has internally upgraded the test version. The letter ‘F’ clearly indicates that a new major One UI version is being tested for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones. Previously, it was spotted with firmware number ‘FZC3,’ and now the number has been upgraded again.

Galaxy S23 March 2026 Update
The Galaxy S23 series is currently running on the February 2026 security patch, and it will later receive the March 2026 security update. The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S25, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 have already been upgraded to the March version, so it may arrive for the Galaxy S23 series in the coming days.
One UI 8.5 Beta Version
The older Galaxy S23 models will not join the beta testing program. These devices are not eligible in any country to participate in the One UI 8.5 beta, so they will be directly updated to the stable version. In the next phase, Samsung is going to open a beta program for several Galaxy devices, as new beta firmware versions have been spotted on the test server.
Supported Features and Availability
The release date for the Galaxy S23 One UI 8.5 update is not confirmed by Samsung, but it is expected to roll out in late April or early May. Also, it may not include all the features of One UI 8.5 or Galaxy S26 Ultra features. Some features like Horizontal Lock, Now Nudge, and Virtual Aperture may come to the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but not to the regular Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ models.
