Samsung is continuing to widen the reach of its latest One UI 8.5 beta program, bringing the new software to more Galaxy devices. After the initial rollout in March with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy S24 series, the company is now expanding the beta to more smartphones, including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy S23 FE, and, for the first time, the Galaxy A36 5G.
One UI 8.5 Beta for More Galaxy Devices
The One UI 8.5 beta program is being rolled out in phases and will be available in select markets, including India, South Korea, the UK, and the US. As with previous beta programs, users can enroll through the Samsung Members app, where the beta banner will appear once the program is live for their device and region.
New One UI 8.5 Features
One of the key highlights of this beta is Samsung’s deeper collaboration with Android, which brings new cross-platform capabilities. The company is introducing support for AirDrop-like functionality through Quick Share, which allows users to send and receive files between both phones. Samsung is highlighting this feature across its phones, including the Galaxy S25 series.

However, the availability of this feature remains limited for now. AirDrop-style Quick Share support is currently available on select high-end devices, including the Galaxy S25 & S26 series. Some users have noticed that this feature is not available in the first beta version, so Samsung may release it in the next beta update.
In March, Samsung brought One UI 8.5 beta to devices like the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, S25 FE, S24 FE, and the Tab S11 lineup. With more devices now joining the program, Samsung is accelerating its testing phase to gather wider feedback from users, such as app optimization, battery performance, and other improvements.
It is worth noting that availability still varies depending on the device and market. For example, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 beta are currently limited to South Korea and the US, while the Galaxy A36 5G beta is rolling out only in India due to its wide presence in the country.
More Galaxy Devices Will Join the One UI 8.5 Beta Program
Samsung has also confirmed that the One UI 8.5 beta program will continue to expand to additional Galaxy devices later this month. This suggests that the company is moving quickly toward stabilizing the update ahead of a wider rollout. The expected release date for the stable version is April 30, and the Galaxy S25 will be the first device to receive it.
Apart from new Galaxy phones, the company is also releasing more beta updates to previous devices. Currently, the Galaxy S25 series has received its ninth beta version, and it may also receive one more update. This indicates Samsung is moving fast to bring a stable update by the end of this month.
