Samsung Stable One UI 8.5 Eligible Devices List Officially Confirmed

Galaxy Devices Stable One UI 8.5 Update

Samsung has started rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update, and many Galaxy devices are next in line. After the Galaxy S25 series and latest foldables, Samsung has now confirmed more phones and tablets eligible for the update. The rollout first started in South Korea and will expand to more regions from May 11. Samsung has posted the list of Galaxy devices on its website that will soon receive the new stable version.

One UI 8.5 Eligible Galaxy Devices

• Galaxy S24 series
• Galaxy S24 FE
• Galaxy S23 series
• Galaxy S23 FE
• Galaxy Z Fold6
• Galaxy Z Flip6
• Galaxy Z Fold5
• Galaxy Z Flip5
• Galaxy Tab S11 series
• Galaxy Tab S10 series
• Galaxy Tab S9 series

What is actually new in this update? One UI 8.5, based on Android 16, is primarily a visual update, with notable changes to the user interface in Samsung’s apps. The biggest practical upgrade is the ability to completely customize the quick panel.

On the Galaxy AI side, Call Screening lets Bixby pick up an unknown call on your behalf, ask the caller who they are and why they are calling, and show you a live transcript. You can then decide whether to join the call or ignore it.

The updated Photo Assist now lets you type prompts to describe the edits you want, giving you more control compared to the older version that required drawing or selecting objects manually. Quick Share now supports cross-platform file transfers between Android and Apple devices.

Still, features like Horizontal Lock, Notification Summary, Now Nudge, and others are missing from this version. Now Nudge is a contextual AI feature that proactively surfaces suggestions, reminders, and actions based on user activity and what is currently on the screen. Agentic Bixby can now handle multi-step tasks that span multiple apps using plain language, and it keeps a conversation history so you can pick up where you left off.

Some Missing Features in the New Version

However, not everything is making its way to older devices. Features like the 24-megapixel camera mode, AI-powered notification handlers, and certain Bixby capabilities remain exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series. On the Galaxy S23 series specifically, features like Creative Studio and the upgraded AI Audio Eraser appear to be absent from the new software.

Samsung is expected to expand the stable One UI 8.5 rollout to even more Galaxy phones over the coming weeks. Older flagships like the Galaxy S22 series, along with most Galaxy A, Galaxy M, and Galaxy F series phones in India, may receive the update at the end of this month or in June.
