Samsung has finally started rolling out the first software update for the new Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro after a delayed release. The new firmware version is R640XXU0AZD2, and it is 8.55MB in size. The new version of the earbuds is being released in South Korea and will soon roll out to other countries. It has been released to improve the overall quality of the buds and enhance the listening experience. The Galaxy Buds 4 duo launched alongside the Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphone, but Samsung took almost two months to release the first software update.

According to the changelog, Samsung has included the newest security code. Since it is the first software update, the company has also delivered improvements to enhance the user experience. The new software for the Galaxy Buds 4 series was initially scheduled for release last week, but due to unknown errors, Samsung halted it. Users who tried to download it last week reported that, after downloading, the firmware did not install on their earbuds.
Now, Samsung may have fixed those issues or bugs and released it for all Galaxy Buds 4 users. To download it on the earbuds, users first need to install the latest Galaxy Buds 4 plugin app version. To install the new plugin, open the Galaxy Wearable app on your paired smartphone, select the Galaxy Buds, and in the app info section, check for the new version.
It is now available to install in South Korea, and within a few days, it will reach other major countries. To get the latest version, open the Galaxy Wearable app and check for a new firmware update.
