The Galaxy S22 has finally been spotted with the major One UI 8.5 firmware update. The latest build spotted today on the Checkfirm database indicates that Samsung is preparing a One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. The newly surfaced firmware confirms Samsung has started internal testing this week. It will be the last major software update for the 2022 flagship models, so it holds more value for users.
Galaxy S22 One UI 8.5 Update

The latest firmware build spotted by Galaxy Updates on Samsung’s test server is S908NKSU8HZCB, and it has appeared on the testing server this week. If we look closely at the firmware number, Samsung has upgraded the 10th character from ‘G’ to ‘H’, which clearly indicates a big and final update is on the way, namely the One UI 8.5 version.
Will it join the One UI 8.5 Beta?
Yesterday, we exclusively found a new build for the Galaxy S23 series, and now we have found one for the Galaxy S22 series. It is not on the list for the One UI 8.5 beta program, so it will likely receive the stable software directly. Samsung usually does not bring beta testing programs to older smartphones, so it is expected to skip the beta phase for the final version.
Galaxy S22 One UI 8.5 Expected Features
Samsung will not bring all features to these models, and some features may not be included due to hardware limitations. Furthermore, there is a possibility that most features will arrive on the Galaxy S22 Ultra and skip the regular Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ models. Some new Galaxy AI features and camera improvements may still come to these older devices.
Galaxy S22 One UI 8.5 Release Date
The One UI 8.5 software is still in the beta testing phase for newer Galaxy devices, except for the Galaxy S26 series. After the beta phase ends, it will gradually roll out to other smartphones, with the Galaxy S25 series and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 expected to receive it first. For the Galaxy S22 series, the update is expected to roll out in late May or June.
