Samsung has finally started releasing the April 2026 security update for the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra smartphones. Galaxy Updates previously stated that Samsung was likely to skip the March update, and now the company has released the April 2026 security patch. The new firmware focuses on improving device security and system reliability, without introducing any new features.
The latest firmware version is S948NKSS2AZCL, and it is 547MB in size. Samsung has yet to announce what changes have been made in the new software or how many bugs have been fixed from the previous version.
Galaxy S26 Ultra April 2026 Update Released

While Samsung hasn’t provided a full changelog, users can expect smoother performance and improved protection for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra series.
The update is currently reaching users in South Korea and will expand gradually in the coming days. It is based on the current One UI 8.5 version, which is expected to be released for other Galaxy devices soon. In March, Samsung released two major updates for the Galaxy S26 series, including a new version that enabled Apple AirDrop support.
Galaxy S26 users can check for the new software version by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and install.
