After the introduction of Privacy Display with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, many users are wondering if the Galaxy S24 Ultra will get the Privacy Display feature with future updates. No, the Galaxy S24 Ultra & S25 Ultra will not get the Privacy Display feature because it requires specific hardware that is not available on either phone. It is not just a software feature; it relies on both hardware and software, so it will not arrive through future updates.

With the launch of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung has exclusively introduced the Privacy Display feature. It is a unique feature that gives users an extra layer of privacy in public places. Now, many users are asking whether this new Privacy Display will support the Galaxy S24 Ultra & Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphones.

Privacy Display for Older Galaxy Devices

The question is valid because, in the past, Samsung has brought many new features to older Galaxy devices. When Samsung launches new features for its flagship models, it often brings them to previous generations.

This year, Samsung has also promised to bring several new features to older supported models, such as Horizontal Lock, Document Scan, Virtual Aperture, and other functions. These features are expected to arrive on the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S24 series, and Galaxy Z Fold 7.

How Privacy Display Works

For Privacy Display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung has used a special hardware technology called Flex Magic Pixel. This new display uses two types of pixels: wide and narrow. These are physical pixels at the micro level, which are difficult to implement on other devices.

When users activate Privacy Display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the system uses Samsung’s AI to turn off the wide pixels, allowing only the narrow pixels to function. When the feature is disabled, both types of pixels work together to display content normally.

Will One UI 8.5 Bring Privacy Display?

The One UI 8.5 software will be available for a wide range of devices, including the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and many others. However, none of these devices will receive the Privacy Display feature. Even the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ do not support it.

Will Future Galaxy Devices Support It?

Yes, there is a possibility that Samsung will introduce Privacy Display on future devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Galaxy S27 Ultra. The company may also improve the technology to address issues such as brightness and performance in low-light conditions.

Finally, Privacy Display is not a feature that can be added through a software update. It is a hardware-based function, so it cannot be brought to older devices.
