Samsung may not fix the 3x camera zoom issue on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, according to an official camera representative on the Samsung Community in South Korea. Last week, the Camera Manager responded to users and assured them that a fix would come in the next software update, which is the April update. Now, it appears that Samsung may not fully fix the 3x zoom issue on the S26 Ultra because, according to the company, it is mainly a hardware-related limitation rather than a software issue that can be fixed with simple tweaks.
Galaxy S26 Ultra 3x Zoom Issue
The Camera Manager apologized for the earlier statement in which he promised a fix in the update, but later found that it is a hardware limitation. He now explains that the difference in 3x zoom quality is mostly due to hardware constraints.

He further mentioned that while Samsung cannot significantly improve image quality at 3x zoom, it will try to deliver better results with software updates. He also explained in detail why the Galaxy S26 Ultra produces slightly lower-quality images at 3x zoom in his long response post.
When the screen recording video and logs you sent are forwarded to the relevant department for analysis,
the telephoto lens of the S26 Ultra model has a pixel pitch of 1.00㎛, which is smaller than that of the wide-angle lens (2.4㎛) and ultra-wide-angle lens (1.4㎛), and
due to the design with high pixel density, there may be a relative difference in image quality. In addition, it was confirmed that the appearance was different due to differences in the field of view/surrounding environment that may occur because the positions of each camera lens module are physically different.
Also clarifies that the previous response was for another issue with the camera.
It has been confirmed that the response provided earlier via 1:1 inquiry was intended to reduce the time lag that occurs when switching lenses due to changes in camera zoom magnification.
We apologize for the confusion regarding our response. We have forwarded your feedback on the 3x zoom image quality to the relevant department and will conduct a comprehensive review to see if there are ways to improve the experience in the future, so that we can provide a better user experience.
After this response, some users are not happy with Samsung and say that, after display quality concerns, the company has also compromised on camera performance with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
