The popular tipster Ice Universe has shared more details of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide. It has leaked with its dimensions, aspect ratio, and thickness. The new data shows the next foldable phone is much thinner than we expected. According to the Ice Universe, Samsung is set to launch the Fold 8 Wide with a 4.3mm thickness when unfolded, and 9.8mm when folded. Interestingly, it is much thinner than the rival Huawei Pura X Max device.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide Release Date
Early information has suggested Samsung could launch the upcoming foldable phone at the next Galaxy Unpacked event, which could be held in July this year. At the same event, Samsung will launch the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 devices. Further, all these devices are expected to run on the next major One UI 9 software version.
Competition with other foldables and the Apple iPhone Ultra
This year, Samsung is not the only company expected to introduce its first Wide Fold device. Reports suggest that, along with other brands, Apple may also enter the foldable market in the future with a nearly similar aspect ratio, which might be called the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra. With Apple’s entry into the foldable market and Samsung’s newly designed Wide Fold, the foldable market will be more immersive than before.
