Galaxy Z Fold 8 & Wide Fold Leak: Samsung Bringing Scam Detection Global

Scam Detection on Galaxy Z Fold 8

Samsung is preparing to bring a new layer of AI-powered call security to its upcoming foldables, as evidence suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, and the rumored Wide Fold could launch with Scam Detection built in. The feature is currently available on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and Samsung could also bring it to its next foldable devices. Along with Call Screening, the Scam Detection tool helps users enrich their calling experience and tackle everyday spam calls.

Scam Detection to Feature on Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8 & Wide Fold

The new tool is powered by Google’s Gemini, which can analyze calls in real-time and warn users if it detects patterns commonly associated with scams. Currently, Scam Detection is limited to English-speaking users in the United States and is available on the Galaxy S26 series. However, new findings indicate that Samsung is planning to expand both device support and regional availability with its next-generation foldables.

According to internal APK teardown and early software indications, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 & Flip 8 will ship with Scam Detection pre-installed, making it one of the key AI features available out of the box. The rumored Wide Fold, which is expected to introduce a new form factor to Samsung’s foldable lineup, is also likely to include the feature at launch.

Samsung to Bring Scam Detection to More Countries

More importantly, Samsung appears to be working on expanding Scam Detection beyond the US. While exact regions are not confirmed yet, there are strong signs that the company is testing support for additional languages and markets.

How Scam Detection Works on Galaxy Devices

The feature works by leveraging on-device AI combined with cloud-based intelligence to analyze conversations during calls. If suspicious behavior is detected, users receive an instant alert, helping them avoid potential fraud. This approach aligns with Samsung’s growing focus on privacy and security, especially as scam calls continue to rise globally.

Until now, this feature has been exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. While it may not come to older models, it is expected to expand to other upcoming devices. Samsung has promised to bring Call Screening and other Galaxy AI features to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Fold 7, and other Galaxy devices, but not this one.
