One UI 9 Update Tracker: Features, Eligible Devices, Beta, and Release Date

One UI 9 Update Tracker

Update (March 16): The first firmware build for One UI 9 has been spotted on the Samsung test server. The newly built firmware version is S948BXXU1BZC5, and it is assigned to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung is now working on the next major One UI version, which might be released with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 foldable devices. It is an early build, so we can expect more internal testing for the new software.

Update (March 13): According to the new information, Samsung will add a new multi-tasking feature to its browser. The new leak suggests Samsung Browser in the One UI 9 update will allow users to open multiple windows at once. On foldable phones and tablets, it will open multiple windows side by side; on regular smartphones, it will open in vertical or horizontal mode.

Samsung is now internally testing the One UI 9 software for its Galaxy smartphones and tablets. It is expected to roll out in the second half of this year for eligible devices. Early rumors suggest that One UI 9 will first appear on the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, and Wide Fold devices at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July.

One UI 9 Features

Now, the Android 17 Beta 1 has started, and we have our first glance at the features we may see in the next Samsung software version. Android 17 introduces design changes, new icons, customization options for the control and notification panels, and other improvements that we could see in the One UI 9 version.

One UI 9 Beta Release Date

Like One UI 8 & One UI 8.5, Samsung will hold a beta testing program for One UI 9 firmware. If we go with history, then the beta program will start in September or October this year. The users in South Korea, India, the UK, the US, and Germany can join it via the Samsung Members app.
