Samsung Locks New AI Call Feature to Galaxy S26 — Older Phones Miss Out

Call Screening on Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung has confirmed via its official Samsung Community forum that the Call Screening feature is exclusive to the Galaxy S26 and will not be released for older Galaxy devices. This marks another feature that Samsung is keeping exclusive to its latest devices. The Samsung Call Screening feature on the Galaxy S26 series, added in One UI 8.5 version, uses an AI assistant to manage incoming calls, helping users deal with spam and scam calls more effectively.

Samsung Call Screening Feature

The Call Screening feature is a beneficial feature for Samsung users, though they will need to upgrade to the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra devices to access it. According to a statement shared on Samsung Community South Korea, a Call Manager confirmed that the feature will remain limited to these phones. For now, only S26 models and future devices will support this feature.

Here is the official answer from the Call Manager (machine translated):

Hello, customer.
Unfortunately, the call screening feature is available starting with the S26 model.
However, One UI 8.5 will offer a variety of new features, so please look forward to it.

No Call Screening for Previous Devices

Many users, including those with Galaxy S24, S25, and Fold 7 devices, are asking why it is not supported, but the Call Manager is giving the same response. This suggests that Samsung wants to keep this feature exclusive to the Galaxy S26 and not extend it to older flagship devices. This decision may disappoint many Galaxy users, especially those of the recent flagship models.

The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S25, Fold 6, Flip 6, Fold 7, and Flip 7 devices will not receive the Call Screening feature, but it may be introduced in future devices, including the next foldable phones. After some Galaxy S26 Ultra camera features, Call Screening is another feature that may not be released for previous models.
