The second April 2026 update for the Galaxy S26 series is now rolling out to more countries, including the US and South Korea. This week, Samsung started releasing the second update this month for the S26 in the US, and now it has expanded to more regions. The latest firmware version is S948NKSU2AZDE, and it is 756MB in size. The changelog doesn’t mention any new features, but the firmware strings hint at fixes for camera bugs.
What’s New in the Second Security Update?
If we look at the firmware string ‘NKSU’ instead of ‘NKSS’, it suggests that Samsung has changed something important on the devices. It could be related to recent camera bugs in 24MP mode and close-up zoom issues. Many users on the Samsung Community South Korea page have complained about these bugs, and the Camera Manager promised to fix them in a future update.

Further, Samsung could optimize the code to prevent battery drain and other issues on the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra devices. In the April 2026 update, Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25 users witnessed massive battery drain issues. Samsung has recently updated the Galaxy S25 series with another April patch in the US, and now the Galaxy S26 is getting new firmware to prevent similar issues.
