Galaxy S24 and S25 Users Facing Battery Issues After April Patch

Galaxy S25 Ultra Battery Drain Issue

Samsung Galaxy S24 & Galaxy S25 series smartphone users have reported severe battery drain issues with the latest April 2026 security update. Many users on Reddit pages and on X are sharing their experience with the new update based on the One UI 8 version. Users reported that the battery is draining too fast after updating to the April patch. The beta users on One UI 8.5 have not mentioned any such issue, which means only non-beta users are currently seeing battery drain.

Furthermore, some users have mentioned heating problems when they use their phone for a certain amount of time. The tipster on X, Tarun Vats, asked users to share their experience with battery performance on the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy S24 series. Almost all users answered that they are having battery performance issues. One user on X shared how his battery is draining faster than normal, and it does not stop even when he activates Battery Saver on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Yes, I have noticed a significant battery drain on my newly bought S25 Ultra, sealed in a box about 5 days ago. After applying the April patch, I realized the battery drains a lot even in standby mode, and despite turning on Battery Saver.

Another user on X also shared how the battery is finishing faster compared to the March update.

After 86% charging, it sometimes stops, and from 100% to 50%, it only takes 1 hour. If I play BGMI, it only takes 45 minutes to drain from 100% to 33%. This April update is bad, and I just want the 8.5 update.

One more user shared that he is also facing overheating, and the battery does not last as long as the previous version.

Yes, I usually get 2 days of battery life. Now, I get around half of the battery life, sometimes less

Like this, many users are facing overheating and battery drain issues. Samsung has not yet acknowledged the issue, but until then, users can try these simple tweaks.

Quick Battery Drain Fixes:

  1. Restart the phone
  2. Use Battery Saver to get maximum power
  3. Close all background apps when you don’t need them
