Galaxy S25 receives One UI 8.5 Stable Update in More Countries

Galaxy S25 Stable One UI 8.5 Update

After the stable update in South Korea, Samsung is now releasing the stable One UI 8.5 update to Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra users in the United States and more countries. For now, non-beta users are receiving the new version, while beta users are expected to get it soon. The update carries firmware versions S938USQU9CZDP and weighs 4408.31 MB. It also comes with the April 5, 2026, security patch instead of the newer May 2026 security patch.

What’s New in Stable One UI 8.5

Most of the new AI features in One UI 8.5 were initially exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series at launch. With this update, they are now coming to the Galaxy S25 series. Here is the list of the major new features in the update.

Galaxy S25 Stable One UI 8.5 Update

Call Screening: When an unknown number calls you, Bixby answers the call, asks the caller who they are and why they are calling, and shows you a live transcript. You can then decide whether to answer or ignore the call. To enable it: Phone app > Settings > Call Screening.

Agentic AI / Smarter Bixby: Bixby can now handle multi-step tasks across multiple apps using plain language.

Creative Studio and real-time Log video previews are also included on the Galaxy S25 series with this update.

AirDrop over Quick Share: You can now send files directly to iPhones, iPads, and Macs through Quick Share without needing any third-party app.

Audio Eraser has also been upgraded and now works in real time instead of post-processing only.

What’s Missing in the New Version

The two biggest missing features are Now Nudge and the new 24MP camera mode. Now Nudge is a Galaxy AI feature that reads what is on your screen and suggests quick actions, such as adding calendar events or filling in contact details. The 24MP camera mode is a higher-resolution option inside Samsung’s Camera Assistant app. Horizontal Lock is also missing in the current version, although a Samsung moderator has confirmed that it will be added to the Galaxy S25 Ultra later.

Global Rollout Starts Today

The wider global rollout begins today, May 11, 2026, covering Europe, India, North America, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. This means users in the UK, Germany, India, Taiwan, and other regions should start receiving the update notification today, although the rollout is gradual and may take a few hours or days to reach all devices in each market.

How to Update Stable Update

Go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. If the update is not available yet, check again after a few hours. Make sure you have enough free storage space and keep your phone plugged in during the installation process.
