After the stable update in South Korea, Samsung is now releasing the stable One UI 8.5 update to Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra users in the United States and Canada. For now, non-beta users are receiving the new version, while beta users are expected to get it soon. The update carries firmware versions S938USQU9CZDP in the US and S938WVLU9CZDP in Canada, and weighs over 4GB. It also comes with the April 5, 2026, security patch instead of the newer May 2026 security patch.
What’s New in Stable One UI 8.5
Most of the new AI features in One UI 8.5 were initially exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series at launch. With this update, they are now coming to the Galaxy S25 series. Here is the list of the major new features in the update.

Call Screening: After too much controversy around this feature, Samsung has finally brought it to older models. When an unknown number calls you, Bixby answers the call, asks the caller who they are and why they are calling, and shows you a live transcript. You can then decide whether to answer or ignore the call. To enable it: Phone app > Settings > Call Screening.
Agentic AI / Smarter Bixby: Bixby can now handle multi-step tasks across multiple apps using plain language.
Creative Studio and real-time Log video previews are also included on the Galaxy S25 series with this new One UI 8.5 update.
AirDrop over Quick Share: You can now send files directly to iPhones, iPads, and Macs through Quick Share without needing any third-party app.
Audio Eraser has also been upgraded and now works in real time instead of post-processing only.
What’s Missing in the New Version
The two biggest missing features are Now Nudge and the new 24MP camera mode in the current version. Now Nudge is a Galaxy AI feature that reads what is on your screen and suggests quick actions, such as adding calendar events or filling in contact details.
The 24MP camera mode is a higher-resolution option inside Samsung’s Camera Assistant app. Horizontal Lock is also missing in the current version, although a Samsung moderator has confirmed that it will be added to the Galaxy S25 Ultra later.
