Samsung has started rolling out a second April 2026 software update for the Galaxy S26 series. The update is now available for T-Mobile users in the US, Rogers users in Canada, and multiple European markets. It brings the fixes to previously spotted errors, including battery drain and camera close-up issues. The second update first arrived in Mexico and South Korea, and now Samsung is releasing it in more countries.
Galaxy S26 Second April 2026 Update
The new firmware version is S948USQU2AZDI running on One UI 8.5 based on Android 16. The update carries the April 2026 security patch and weighs 759MB. Getting two updates in the same month is unusual for Samsung. The company typically ships one security patch per month. This second release suggests Samsung is pushing an urgent fix for the battery and camera that could not wait until May.

The official changelog mentions stability, reliability improvements, and better device behavior. However, many Galaxy S26 Ultra users have been reporting blurry photos at 3x zoom for several weeks. This update is expected to fix the close-up camera issue, though Samsung has not confirmed this in the changelog.

Some Galaxy S26 users also reported battery drain after the second April patch in South Korea. This update may address that as well.
