According to South Korean outlet ET News, the company has pushed back the release of the Galaxy Ring 2 to early 2027. A second-half 2026 reveal at a Galaxy Unpacked event was previously rumored, but Samsung has quietly stepped back from that timeline. There could be many reasons for the delay. At the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung is going to launch many flagship products, so it could sideline the Galaxy Ring to a later date.
A slower-than-expected smart ring market could be another reason for pushing it to next year. Of course, sales of these wearables have increased in the last few years, but they are still not huge in terms of sales numbers. Samsung wants the Galaxy Ring 2 launch to land with more impact and not get lost in a busy product calendar.
Galaxy Ring 2 Rumored Features
The first Galaxy Ring launched in mid-2024 at $399 (around ₹34,000 in India). It tracked sleep scores, heart rate data, essential activities, and skin temperature, syncing everything with Samsung Health. Now, with the next Samsung Ring, users expect more features so it can replace fitness trackers.

According to the sources, Samsung is reworking the internal component layout to reduce thickness and weight, and battery life is being extended to 9–10 days. Further, for better accuracy, sensors are being improved, with a focus on better sleep analysis, skin temperature tracking, and cardiovascular health insights.
Longer term, Samsung is reportedly exploring non-invasive blood glucose monitoring for future Ring hardware, but that’s not coming with Ring 2. We have also heard similar rumors for the Galaxy Watch 9 & Watch Ultra 2.
Samsung is leaning into a two-device health strategy for its wearables. The Galaxy Watch handles more workouts, has a huge library of apps, and provides smart notifications. The Galaxy Ring quietly collects sleep and daily health data in the background, all feeding into Galaxy AI inside Samsung Health for personalized insights.
While Samsung delays, competitors are moving ahead. The Oura Ring 4, priced at $349 (around ₹29,000), remains the benchmark in smart rings with strong sleep tracking and a subscription model. RingConn Gen 2 and Ultrahuman Ring Air are growing in popularity, especially in India, where they are available for under ₹20,000. Apple has no ring yet, but its HealthKit ecosystem keeps iPhone users locked in anyway.
India Availability
The first Galaxy Ring launched in India in August 2024, starting at ₹33,999. If Ring 2 follows a similar rollout after launch, Indian buyers can expect availability a few weeks after the global debut, likely sometime in mid-2027.
Galaxy Ring 2 Release Date
Samsung is expected to launch the next Ring in 2027 at a Galaxy Unpacked event. At the same event, we could see the Galaxy S27 series with One UI 9.5 and another rumored product, the Galaxy Fit 4 fitness tracker.
