As per previous rumors, Samsung users were supposed to receive the stable One UI 8.5 update today, but it looks like it is not going to happen. Earlier, social media rumors predicted that Samsung would release the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S25 series in South Korea on April 30 (KST). Now, it is the end of the day, especially in South Korea, and users are already disappointed about not receiving the major update on their Galaxy S25 devices.
Users are frustrated to see no stable update today
Since users believed Samsung was going to release the stable update in the country, many were eagerly waiting for it. From early morning, users have been active on the Samsung Community, checking for any progress. Now that it appears the update will not be delivered today, they are disappointed with the company. There is visible outrage on the Samsung Community South Korea forum, where users are asking for official confirmation regarding the firmware update.
Why are users angry with Samsung?
Samsung never officially confirmed the timeline for the Galaxy S25 One UI 8.5 update, but they also never denied it. When rumors on social media shared the release date, none of Samsungâs spokespersons came forward to reject it. As a result, most customers believed April 30 (KST) was the official release date for the next major update.
Users are asking Samsung to provide an official update timeline. It would also be better if the company announced an official date. This would at least give users clarity and something to expect, instead of ongoing confusion.
When it all started
It began when tipster Tarun Vats shared the rumored release date on X. Later, other tipsters like Alphaturk and others mentioned the same date, and most users treated it as confirmation. According to the rumors, South Korean users would receive the stable update first on their Galaxy S25 devices, followed by international users on May 4.
Samsungâs stance on this situation
Samsung’s service team has responded that they can not reveal the date. However, some users on the Samsung Community forum mentioned that they contacted service centers and received limited responses. One customer claimed that a service center representative said they could not reveal internal information due to company policy. Another user mentioned that Samsung might be delaying the update due to the holiday on May 1.

Further rumored release date for the stable One UI 8.5 update
Some users still believe Samsung could start rolling out the update on May 1, despite the holiday. At this point, no new date can be confirmed, and users can only wait to see when Samsung releases it. Once again, Samsung should address the situation and announce an official date, as this is the second time this month that users have been frustrated, following the call screening issue.
