Samsung has now started rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update for more Galaxy devices in the United States. After the Galaxy S25 lineup and foldable devices received the update earlier, the company has expanded the rollout to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. After South Korea, the latest rollout is currently live for carrier-locked models in the US. More carrier variants and unlocked models are expected to receive the stable update very soon.

Users have already started spotting the new firmware versions on supported devices for Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile. The currently identified build numbers are:

• Galaxy S24 series – S92*USQU5DZDR
• Galaxy S24 FE – S721USQUBDZDP
• Galaxy Z Fold 6 – F956USQU3DZDQ
• Galaxy Z Flip 6 – F741USQU3DZDP

Samsung appears to be slowly expanding the release in phases, which is normal for major One UI updates. If there are no major bugs or server-side issues, wider availability should begin within the next few days. Samsung usually puts US users last on the rollout list, though this time appears to be different.

One UI 8.5 brings several changes across the system, along with smoother animations and updated Galaxy AI features. It includes major features such as Call Screening, Photo Assist, Document Scan, and more. However, it still misses some important features like Horizontal Lock and Ocean Mode on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Apart from these features, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 users are expected to notice enhancements to multitasking and Flex Mode.

For now, the update is limited to USC carrier-locked units, but Samsung usually expands availability quickly once the first wave begins. Unlocked models and additional US carriers could start receiving the update soon. Users in other countries, including those in Europe and India, are also expected to receive the update shortly.

Galaxy users in the US can manually check for the new One UI 8.5 update by heading to:
Settings > Software update > Download and install

If you have already received the stable One UI 8.5 update on your Galaxy S24, S24 FE, Z Fold 6, or Flip 6 device in the US, let us know which carrier and model you are using.
