Samsung has started rolling out the first firmware update for the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro in the US and Europe. The update mainly focuses on stability improvements, though early users say the annoying ANC and connection issues still remain. The update, version R640XXU0AZD2, for the Buds 4 Pro weighs 8.55 MB. It is now reaching users in Europe and the United States after its initial release. In the US, it has the same firmware version and file size. The update first rolled out in South Korea with the security patch, though some users mentioned that nothing has changed.
Galaxy Buds 4 Series First Update Changelog
According to the changelog mentioned in the shared screenshot, the update addresses stability issues and does not add any new features. Specifically, stabilization code related to device operation has been applied. Some users have complained about connection drop issues and ANC-related problems, so these are expected to be fixed with the latest version.

Community reports on the Samsung forums also flag a known ANC imbalance bug, where the left earbud’s noise cancellation feels weaker than the right, especially after the charging case drains to near-zero. Whether this update addresses that specific issue is not confirmed in the changelog, but users are watching closely.
Users who installed the new firmware early reported no noticeable performance difference. The random connection drops and ANC issues still remain and may be fixed in a future update.
The Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro debuted alongside the Galaxy S26 series earlier this year. Nearly two months after launch, this is the first firmware update the earbuds have received, making it an important baseline patch.
As Galaxy Updates first reported, Samsung initially attempted to roll out this update to the Galaxy Buds 4 series two weeks ago, but the rollout was halted due to unknown errors. Users who tried downloading it reported that the firmware did not install properly on their earbuds.
How to Get the Update
The first firmware update has now reached the US and major European countries, and will soon hit other countries. Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone, go to Settings > Galaxy Buds 4 Pro > Earbuds software update. If the update is available, it will begin downloading automatically. Once downloaded, tap Install now.
