Samsung has now started rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S23 series in South Korea after recently releasing the same update for the Galaxy S24 lineup in the US and Europe. The latest firmware version, S918NKSU7FZDT, is now rolling out for beta users with a 390MB download size. It comes with some major features along with new Galaxy AI tools that older devices lack.
The update is currently available for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra users enrolled in the One UI Beta Program in South Korea. Non-beta users and more regions are expected to receive the stable build very soon through the OTA channel.
Galaxy S23 Stable One UI 8.5 Update
The Galaxy S23 series is another flagship lineup to receive some premium features that were recently added to the Galaxy S26 series. The new features include Share with Apple Devices, Photo Assist, Call Screening, Document Scan, Gallery improvements, and Quick Panel suggestions.

Due to hardware limitations, several features like Horizontal Lock and Ocean Mode will not come to these devices. Also, some advanced Galaxy AI features introduced with the Galaxy S26 series are still missing from the Galaxy S23 series. A few newer on-device AI tools and camera-related functions remain limited to Samsung’s latest flagship hardware.

Security Level: May 5, 2026

The latest software also brings better animations and improved app stability compared to previous beta builds. Users may notice smoother multitasking and faster performance across the system after the update.
This rollout comes shortly after Samsung expanded the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S24 series globally. Now, the company is step by step moving toward older flagship devices before expanding the update further to foldables and FE models.
Unlike the Galaxy S24 stable update in some regions, which still carried the older April 2026 security patch, the Galaxy S23 series is already receiving the newer May 2026 security patch with the stable release.
To install the new One UI 8.5 update, users should head to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Since Samsung is releasing the update in phases, availability may vary depending on region and device model. However, the latest rollout strongly suggests that Samsung has now started the wider stable One UI 8.5 expansion for the Galaxy S23 series globally.
