Samsung has already started early One UI 9 beta testing based on Android 17, even before the stable One UI 8.5 rollout finishes globally. The company recently opened the One UI 9 Beta Program for the Galaxy S26 series in select regions, including the US, giving us the first look at Samsung’s next major software update. In a recent finding, Galaxy Updates has found One UI 9 beta testing firmware for Galaxy S25 series, Fold 7 & Flip 7 devices, so they may be the next in line to participate in the beta program.
While Samsung has not officially confirmed the full One UI 9 eligible devices list yet, the company’s current software policy makes it easier to predict which Galaxy phones and tablets are expected to receive Android 17. Like every year, Samsung will first roll out the update to flagship Galaxy S and foldable devices, followed by Galaxy A, M, F, and Tab models.

4. Galaxy Z Flip 4
These devices may continue receiving security updates, but Android 16-based One UI 8.5 could be their final major update. Further, many Galaxy A series & Galaxy M series will be excluded from the next major software update.
Stable One UI 9 Release date
The company is expected to officially introduce the stable One UI 9 update on July 22 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8. In the same month, Samsung may officially release it for the Galaxy S26 series, followed by other major devices. Like One UI 8.5 beta, if Samsung takes more time than usual, then there could be another delay in stable rollout release dates.
